Amtrac

Recently heard someone trying to pass a law allowing you to carry concealed on luggage of Amtrac.  Good luck... I'm an engineer at Union Pacific, and even tho they preach to us about safety, and how we are the eyes and ears of the railroad, the first line of defence, the watchman on the wall against terrorism...DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT CARRYING CONCEALED ON YOUR TRAIN. OR IT'S YOUR ASS.  I'm thinking about asking the CEO why he thinks so little of his employees that he would leave us  defenceless against a would be train bomber, but I'm not expecting anything reasonable in response.

I think it is done.  Amtrak has to find a way to allow firearms by December 2010.

IIRC, it has to be unloaded and in checked baggage. The rules are similar to airline regulations.
